Disneyland 2006
In fall of 2006, my family: My Mom, Dad, Gray and I went to San Diego, California for my birthday. There we had family and friends (pretty much my moms WHOLE side of the family lives in California. My birthday was on the 16th of October and the next day we went to DISNEYLAND!!!
“THUMP!! THUMP!! THUMP!!” went my footsteps down the hall of my moms cousins house. I was all dresses and ready for action. Today was the day we were going to Disneyland. Bruce, (my mom’s cousin’s husband) was up making pancakes and bacon. I joined him. Of course me (the best) got the first pancake. They were delicious! The syrup and the pancake melted beautifully in my mouth. Soon later the others woke up: Mom, Dad, Gray, Laura (my mom’s cousin), and when Laura woke up Harley and Ben two HUGE golden retrievers came darting out of the bedroom. During breakfast they roamed around the table begging for food. Just then the action began.
All ready to go, I, not being able to see come tumbling over to the car with my puffy Baby Ruth pillow and candy that I got for my birthday. I fell down into the car plopped my candy into the handle and sat straight, looking forward all pumped up with excitement.
Ten minutes later my head was pressed against the window waiting patiently for the others. A while later, everyone began to slowly, make their way to the car. I was excited but not as excited. I opened the door and nearly fell out. It was fifteen minutes later that we finally took off. Apparently we had to have a whole family reunion before we could leave. Pictures and all!! ‘UG’ how annoyed I was. Finally we said good-bye and we were off on our journey to L.A. It was a beautiful drive! Palm trees OH how pretty they were. Waiting patiently might have paid off.
We entered the parking lot. I gladly said good-bye to my Baby Ruth pillow and shut the car door. We took the escalator down because we were on the 4th floor. We waited in line to get on these busses, which would take us to Disneyland.
Slowly walking with big eyes, I entered. Disneyland was all decked out with Halloween stuff. I zoomed through the lines, when we got our tickets. I was jumping up and down all ready for the first ride. Still jumping, I told my parents I wanted to go on Indiana Jones. Luckily it was right there. Again I zoomed up to the line. I thought they did a nice job on how they did the lines, they had you walking through this Indiana Jones set, I was amazed! Finally we were on. They put us in these jeeps and you drove through a really cool adventure; like the lines! I was on the far left and on that side it is really freaky because when the jeep would turn it always leaned so the left side was down. Later on in the ride there was this ball and you go under it, it is really hard to describe. I really LOVED that ride!!!!
Next up was Pirates of the Caribbean. We got into a boat pretty fast! For some odd reason that ride bored me because there wasn’t enough action. Man was I hungry!!! When the ride was over we ate at this McDonalds type place. We had chicken strips and mozzarella sticks. UM UM UM!! Our next ride, well not ride, but, we went on this boat that gave us a tour of Disneyland. “TOOT! TOOT!” went the whistle right in my ear, we were ready to go. It was about ten fifteen minutes. It was really cool to see all the neat rides to go on. During that time my dad was telling me how much he liked a ride called Space Mountain when he was a kid. I was practically sitting there like in a movie theater with popcorn listening. When we got off the boat there was this awesome ride called Big Mountain Roller Coaster. I could not stop thinking about Space Mountain. I sat in the very back seat with my Gray. It was a fun ride but I wanted it to be over because I wanted to go on Space Mountain. The only thing bad was that Space Mountain was on the other side of the park. We had to walk through Fantasy Land to get there. When we entered Fantasy Land my mom made us go on it’s a Small World. It was OK, I got that annoying song stuck in my head all day though. I was being so impatient; I really wanted to go on Space Mountain. One wait after another. The next wait I had to do is Teacups, they were fun though!! My mom can’t do rides that spin, so I just went on that ride with my dad and little bro. Jumping up and down it was time for Space Mountain. I of course lead the way.
“Oh lets go on this ride!” said my dad. It was a ride called Star Tours where you are in this helicopter and are fling through space. The whole time my mom closed her eyes and gripped the arm rests so tight I’m surprised that they didn’t come off. When I was done with that ride I was so DIZZY!!
Darting to the line I was all pumped up! It was time! When we finally got in the little car for the ride, my face was hurting so bad because I couldn’t stop smiling. We took off and were up in SPACE!!!!! It was so cool once we were done I wanted to go on it again so badly!
The park was about to close. We had time for one more ride because we needed to leave time for buying things. I wanted to go on Indiana Jones. My parents said yes because we were right there. We got in line and went on the ride. When we got off we bought things to remember our wonderful trip to Disneyland!
In the car on the way home I fell asleep. That day was one of the best in my life!!!
